At Friends of Mt. Washington School, we believe every child deserves an extraordinary education — and we're here to make that happen.

Since 1993, FOMWS has been the driving force behind the programs, experiences, and improvements that make Mt. Washington Elementary truly special. As a nonprofit 501(c)(3) booster organization, we exist to fill the gaps — funding the extracurricular programs, enrichment opportunities, and capital improvements that go beyond what LAUSD provides, because our kids deserve more than just the basics.

From the classroom to the playground, every dollar we raise goes directly toward expanding what's possible for our students. We do this by building meaningful partnerships with the businesses and individuals who make up the heart of our community — because when we invest in our school, we invest in all of us.

Together, we're not just supporting education. We're shaping futures.. 

FOMWS is also the Joint Use Partner with the State of California and LA Unified School District for the community access and use of the Jack and Denny Smith Library and Community Center.
